I have Norton Security 2013 installed on a laptop running windows XP . When turned on the machie boots up and the Norton symbol appears in the bottom right tray with a green arrow. However intermittently it just turns itself off and the arrow in the tray turns red. Usually this is cured by turning the computer on and off which is a nuisance as this takes quite a while being an older machine. However recently no matter what I did I just couldnot turn Norton back on. I was only 4 weeks away from renewal of my annual subscription so I gave up and just bought a new subscription which solved the problem. However this is no longer an option and I was dissappointed to see the problem recur today after about 3 weeks without it happening. Fortunately reboot solved it but I may find myself without this option in the future given previous experience .
Does anyone know of this problem and the proper fix for it ?
