Hellos, this is prob the first problem i have ever had so i need some helps.
I think i have norton 2009/10 installed on my xp labtop because that version seem to run the best on it. So about a week and a half ago i ran live update and it went fine as always but this time it started the nua.exe which downloaded the 2013 free upgrade( now i have had upgrade pop ups befor and they usualy have a option after the second or thrid time the come up to never remind me again and it removes the files). This time however i have seen the pop up about 3-4 times now and the only options ive been seeing are upgrade and do not install this update now.
My Question is how many pop ups should i see till i get the option to ignore this update and remove the files it downloaded on my labtop. AGain these update pop ups have happened befor ( and since i have a older version i dont have the option to disable the dl but that has never bugged me because i usualy get the stop pop up after 4 days but this one hasnt) but usualy by the second pop up you get a new option to stop them and remove the files. Was wondering if you guys increased the number of pop ups till i see that msg or that i will never see it and if thats the case how do i stop the pop ups!!!?
First off : you can switch off New version downloads in Settings under Update. So then you do not get them anymore.
I would strongly advise you to upgrade to at least the 2012 version of Norton. It runs as light and good as the 2009/10 version, but has more functionality to keep up with the dangers of today.
You need to download version 2012 seperately. If you need a download link, come back here and tell us which language version you are running.
If you go for the offered upgrade, you will automatically get version 2013.

Now the version i have on my laptop doesnt have the option to stop new versions upgrades from downloading(i guess i have the 2009) which again i dont mind beacuse they usualy go away after 6 days with a new pop up to remove it which this time i dont see.
I know upgrading to the new ones are good and all its just my laptop like this version best for somereason dont ask me why it just does lol.
Again thanks for the replays hope someone can answer the pop up question >.< or a way to remove the files and just stop this upgrade pop version and hope the next has the second option.
Finnaly got the pop up to happen again today like clock work
Dont know if the banner is changing color because i swear it was green when i first say it like 10 days ago lol but i never paid attention to that part always was looking for the do not remind me again option like all the other upgrade pop ups had this one has been the same for the last 5 times i saw it with do not update me again with just makes it pop up in anoher 2 days.
If anyone knows whats going on or how to stop this one from poping up and remove the files that would be great since this is starting to get anoying now >.>
EDIT: tried to add another picture but i guess it was to big and somehow it just posted a blank thing.
Still looking for help on this situation or a solution to stop this update only. BTW is nua.exe only for product update just want to know because i sorta want to try something but if it use used for other things i wont even try
The pop seemed to give the message the 7th time it showed which seemed kinda of long but o well it finnaly show'd
Now I think it should have removed the files it downloaded? because i looked where i saw them befor and they were gone BUT it seems it didnt restor the 160 megs. Same thing happen'd with previous upgrade downloads where after i hit the do not show me button again nua.exe closed and it seemed that it removed the files but it never restored the memory it took so looking for help on this now because i want to know whats going on
