Norton using excessive cellular data

Norton on my iPhone is using excessive data eg 117GIG for current fortnight period… comparison System Services only 10gig. How can I resolve this as when traveling it wipes out travel SIM card data within a few days of leaving home? Thanks for any advice

Here is a Norton Support article explaining high data usage attributed to the 360 app. Learn more about the high data usage displayed for Norton 360 app for iOS

Are you able to check with your cell carrier to see how much data you have actually used?

Thanks for the advice. I did read this article but recently when I was away I had an 11gig SIM card; no calls just data and Norton was responsible for taking all the data per the breakdown of usage in the mobile section of the iPhone. It’s happened twice now where my sim has been decimated so rather than turn Norton off when traveling I thought I’d ask for feed back if others had a workaround . My only option might be to risk it and turn Norton off when using a sim that has a limit on the data …

And to confirm. You are able to confirm that the time used on that SIM card was actually used?

Are you using the VPN feature when you see this data usage?

Yep, just that SIM card, not ESIM so no chance of anything else other than wifi. No movies watched at all, mainly safari and a rail app a few times to show already booked at home train tickets. Now you mention VPN yes it was running - my understanding (I’m likely wrong) is that it’s needed for Norton to run …
Do you think deleting the Norton app and reinstalling might help? I’ve tried to do the Norton app updates but that just doesn’t seem to ever work, constantly “unable to update 360” try again later ….? Thanks again for your help and advice

I was referring to whether that SIM card’s available data being used up.

If you are

Does the Apple App Store app show that there is an available update for your device? And then when you try to update, you get the unable message? If so, then there may be an issue with your installation and a reinstall would be a good suggestion. I still don’t think it has anything to do with the data usage issue, but it can’t hurt.
