Apparently my Overall System Health is only "medium". This is partly because my system's Privacy Health is "Low" because i have not removed history information or bleached free space. I dont want to remove my history information - its there for a reason, such as recent documents pinned to my Start menu. I find that a useful feature of windows7, not "unhealthy". How can i get NU's assessment of my system's health to look at just my system's health, not matters which have nothing to do with it such as recently opened files?
Another issue I have is the Start Scan button. It doesn't just scan, it removes files such as temporary files, cookies, recycle bin files, and history information, and defrags hard disks. I dont want my hard disks defragged without backing them up first. Yes NU can be configured not to do these things, but since this button takes pretty drastic action why doesnt it carry a health warning on it, not simply calling is something innocuous like "Start Scan"? As a result its hard to trust this product, particularly as i have it installed on my children's laptops. Perhaps someone from Norton can explain?
