I have had NOrton Utilities on my old Compaq Presario s6300nx with windows xp for a couple of years. Actually I was afraid to run the registry scanner. I had discussed my fear on this board. And, it seemed that many agreed that it could be hazardous to use it. But, eventually, my computer slowed and video was running slowly. So, I set a restore point and went for it.
I think it helped a lot. It did no harm which was a concern for me.
Just wanted to report that. And, I have run it twice since that first attempt last year.
I wanted to share this positive report since I had complained why sell registry cleaners if you should only use them if you know what each key is and can personally approve its fix. That, I dare say, is beyond most users.
Finally, I bit the bulletn and let Norton fix "all". No problems. I do believe that performance increased and video streaming was greatly enhanced.
