I installed Norton Internet Security 2013 today (bought at Costco back in November, 2012).
I also installed the Norton Utilities v 15.0.0.122 after installing NIS.
I removed the old copy of Nortron Utilities that I had on my computer.
However, during the install process, NU did not ask me for the product key, nor did it ask me to activate NU.
At one point in the install process, I got the message that the (x86) Norton Utilities folder already existed and did I want to install in the same location, I clicked "yes".
Later on there was a message "copying registration information).
When I checked the properties of the NU icon, it said the product was registered to "xxx" product number, which was different from the product number I had received in the new copy of NIS and NU.
I then removed new NU again and tried installing it again and clicked "no" when told (x86) Norton Utilities folder already existed and did I want to install in the same location, I clicked "no". It didn't seem to make any difference.
I have a new Dell XPS 8500 with Windows 7 Home Premium. Also the computer didn't access the NU CD.
Can anyone help me?
When I click the desktop icon, what appears to be the same as what I had with the old copy.
My concerns:
I wasn't asked for product key
I wasn't asked to activate NU
The puzzling part is the message "copying registration info" -- I was asked for product key and activation when I installed NIS just a few minutes earlier.
On the small card with the install instructions and product key, it was stated that I would be asked to input the product key, as well as activate the product.
I'd appreciate any help. Thanks in advance.
