Today, I received the error "Norton Utilities 15 GUI Stopped" during SpeedDisk drive defrag ... it first ran for about an hour or so, appearing ok, then the error appeared ... should I be concerned that Norton corrupted anything when it crashed and should I restore my drive from recent Ghost image to be safe?
Unlike other posts on this topic related to Windows 8, My Dell workstation is running Windows 7 SP1, and I've performed "live update" to all the installed Norton products. My drive is a standard NTFS format, no RAID or other such configurations involved.
Also, I've used NU 15 previously for registry cleaning, but this is first time I've used it for disk defrag ... is this a reliable program or should I look at something else?
Please note: I've contacted Symantec support a couple of times in the last month for various issues with Norton Utilities, Ghost, and AntiVirus due to some random freeze, error message or other weird behavior in one of them, each time requiring an uninstall of everything with Norton Removal Tool, followed by re-install of all (3) products. All these products are versions that support Windows 7 and have all updates ... this is getting to be a pain ... same question as above, are these worth keeping? Thanks in advance for any ideas.
