Norton Utilities 15 (SpeedDisk)

I'm having a problem with speed disk.

I've tried to collect boot time stats with Speed disk but every time I select the option to Collect Boot Statistics and restart it doesn't collect the stats and it says optimization statistics that "Boot Statistics Collected: Never" and "Page Files: Never". Yet i select the option and restart. Anything i'm doing wrong?

yes i use it under Admin

Thanks

p.s anyone else have this issue?

Really? No one or Mods can answer? second time asking but maybe some other company likes to solve problems. I'll just use some other program that works and uninstall this.

Hi cooperPar,

Please be patient as this is a weekend and all of us here volunteer our time to assist people like yourself.

Have you tried clicking "1 - Click Optimization",  and let that run through to completion?

Thanks,  Dave.

Thank you and yes I have tried that, but it still hasn't boot optimized or collected boot stats

I've heard great things about Disktrix Ultimate Defrag. It's a fully customizable disk optimizer that goes way beyond what customizations speedisk can offer.

Getting an SSD may be another option for you.

Or, finding a solution to your problem with Speedisk!

cooperpar,

I am having exactly the same problem.  No statistics gathered even though I choose that and reboot.

Just out of curiosity, does your computer keep running through chkdsks on bootup for your disk(s), even though chkdsk finds no errors?

I have the same problem, but with this twist: I have NU15 on two machines, one a Win7 in a RAID0 configuration and the other running WinXP, non-RAID. Collect Boot Statistics works just like it's supposed to on the WinXP machine. But on the Win7 machine, it shows the task is scheduled "on next Windows startup", but it doesn't collect anything at boot. Like cooperPar, I'm running NU as an administrator. Win7 problem? RAID problem? Anyone?
