When I run Data Recovery to recover Music files with a deep scan or a structure scan. It gets to about 22% and gives the message: Norton Utilities has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available. I tried this on my other machine with no problems. I already tried uninstalling and reinstalling with no solution. Is there a log file that I can look at to see where the problem may be. Has anyone else had this problem.
Windows 7 pro SP1 32 bit. 4 gig of Ram.

Sounds like the file itself might not be complete. How long ago was it deleted? Is it possible that something you did after deleting the file could have overwritten a portion of it?

That seems to be an interesting problem. Can you take screenshots? I would be int erested in getting the Windows Event viewer logs to see what caused it to crash.
Additionally, can you take a screenshot of the settings of your recovery scan? Have you tried to run quick recovery scan rather than deep to see if the scan would complete? Let us know what you find.
