I forget exactly what I did to get the first problem to occur but this is what happened. I compacted my registry and Norton said I would get a 75% savings. Right there that should have told me something but I wasn't paying attention and went ahead and did it. Well when it rebooted I got a full screen error about my registry that I had less than a second to read (I hate that). Bottom line was the restore point didn't work and I had to restore my computer to factory condition.
The other issue I am having is when I try to Optimize my C drive, where my system drive and Windows 7 64-bit is, I keep getting an error that says back up in progress access denied. So I tried optimizing during Window's Boot time but I get this error, and I get the same error on my father's laptop, I have a PC, that our hard drives are SD/Flash drives optimizing them will shorten their lifespan, or something like that, and it asks if you want to continue but before you can do anything it says that user cancelled and boots up. I also tried real-time defrag but it never seems to finish defraging my C drive. Any suggestions?
