I recently installed Norton Utilities 15 on my lap top. After NU15 runs a "disk clean" I have to repair a file on my AC2013 to get it to load. How do I find the proper file to put it in the ignore list? It also wipes my Website Notified and other toolbars off of my firefox. This is a great program, but if I have to repair all of the things I use everyday, it hardly makes it worth it.
Hello dmh10582,
I can help you with your issues. For tthe first issue where you are having problems with Autocad you will need to the following:
Step 1: Reverse Norton Utilities registry changes:
_________________________________________
1. Open Norton Utilities
2. Select "Recover"
3. Select "Restore"
4. Check (select) all of the check boxes shown under "Restore registry backup"
5. Select "Restore"
6. Once all of the items are restored, please restart your computer
Once steps 1 - 6 have been performed, please check to see if the affection application(s) begin to work correctly again. If the application(s) DO NOT begin to work again, than this indicates that Norton Utilities is not the cause of this issue.
If the affected applications do begin to work again, please proceed to "Step 2" shown below.
Step 2: Send Norton Utilities "scan.log":
_________________________________
1. Start Norton Utilities
2. Select "Clean your Registry"
3. At the completion of the scan, DO NOT select "Repair"
4. Select (click) the yellow "back" arrow in the upper left hand corner of the Norton Utilities screen
5. Select "Administer"
6. Select "Settings"
7. Select "Open Log Folder"
8. Attach the "Scan.log" text file from the “Log” folder to your reply to this e-mail.
As soon as we receive the "Scan.log", we will analyze it and inform you when we have the results.
As for wiping out your website browsers, you will need to remove firefox from doing a clean your disks scan. To do this you will need to go to:
1. Open Norton Utilities.
2. Go to 'Clean your disks'
3. Select 'Browsers'
4. Untick Firefox Browser and Mozilla Browser and then click 'Save'.
The next time you perform a clean, it should keep your Toolbar from disappearing.
Skreddy
Fire fox is not highlighted as a browser in any lists. A Norton tech had access to my computer for about 7 hours a few days ago, and could not fix these problems. I have also received multiple phone calls from Norton claiming to have a fix for my problems, but when I call back I get put on hold for over a half hour. This has happened three times. It is really making me loose faith in Norton.
