Norton Utilities Vs Norton Utilities Premier & NU matters

Dear All,

Can anyone tell me the difference between NU & NU Premier.  Both seems to be the same.  Also, how does NU upgrade program work?  ie : Do I need to renew subscriptions yearly like NIS?  What is the upgrade prices? subsriptions prices?

Also, I want to do a trial of NU, How can I try NU Premier?  but I have NIS2011, if I use NRT to uninstall NU, I will also remove NIS.  Is there a Uninstall in NU?  So that I do not have to remove my NIS?

I cannot seems to find any information in the Norton website.

Sorry for asking silly questions.....Thank you and Merry Christmas

Hi,

NU premier is a bundle of Norton Utilities + a 1-year subscription for Norton Online Backup.

NU is not a subscription based product like the AV Norton products. You buy it once, and you have it for your lifetime. Upgrading to newer versions is a bit cheaper than normal price, but you would need the previous version as well to get it.

You can get the NU trial from here: www.norton.com/nu14, it is a 30-day trial version. It has its own uninstaller, so you do not need to uninstall NIS from your machine.

EDIT: If you wish to try Norton Online Backup as well, please go to the nobu.backup.com site, and you can try it as well.

If you have any other question(s), please let us know. :)

Thank you for your reply.

Funny that there are no mention of the Online Backup on NU Premium.  The price are also the same for both versions.

So the Online backup is FREE for 1 year and are require sub fees for future use.  I might try it, but do not know if I really need online backup....especially security and stablity issues.  I am paranoid.

Thank you
