I bought Norton 360V4 and downloaded and everything went fine but upon reboot my PC crashed so bad the Gateway restore had to restart my PC What a mess!!!!!!!!!!!!! I cannot download this Version on Vista sp2. I'm in the process of notifying American express to contact Norton for a refund.Such a mess. I'm in the process of buying a new iMac. I assume this Verison 360 4 Will be free? In it's state it will not install on Vista.
It installed without any issues on 7. Sorry to hear you had problems. I am a switcher from Mac to PC, not the other way around. IMHO, you will be very upset with your iMac.
I hope you can install it back without any issues.

We are currently waiting to hear an official word of confirmation about the product release. Please wait till we announce it in the forums here.
Hello forum, I downloaded the new version Norton 360v4 and it seems successful except that the cards and log ins for both IE8 and Firefox 3.6 does not function, but when I go to a site that I have marked for secure sign-in everything is there, all I have to do is click and I’m in the desired secure site. Ok, it works. Paul
Well, now the toolbar works including the secure sign-in. Version 4 uses much more memory. I was running 1.20 now she hits 1.40 but seems stable. Only one Firefox hang. So far OK, impressed. Easy download, easy install. It actually works OK, it is working IMO.

I"m pretty certain I've seen a message from Tony W on this saying to run Live Update manually a few times until it gives the You are fully uptodate signal -- I think this is to get a fix installed that is not part of the initial release.
Could you try that and let us know if the features function.
Yes running manually live-update fixes by getting additional updates and also be sure to check administrative settings and make sure all are checked and some not disabled. Auto live-update was set to no on mine. I’m actually getting a Mac soon as Windows is getting nuts.Too many issues to deal with including this.
Thanks, I need a more stable platform as I am going to take some on-line courses and at most I get 1:10 before a crash with this Vista beast. I should be OK and I don’t see anything too difficult. I used a Mac back in 1985. Of course much has changed and I’m excited about leaning Snow Leopard . I’m sure glad we have this 360V4 finally going, it was pretty rough for a while!
I hadn't picked up that you had VISTA -- that would say it all! Well worth upgrading to WIN 7 if you are going to keep the Windows laptop as a reserve ....
Just make sure you get a decent security application! I believe Norton do know about Macs ..... Norton for Mac
I notice4d something and maybe it will help someone: My PC kept crashing and there was much disc action and I disabled performance monitor found in Administrative settings and now my PC is stable and no disc action.Maybe this is a fix for someone like it has been for me.Actually in admin settings I disabled the first 4. Try it someone and see if this fixes NORTON 360’s unstableness. Too much action going here I think for needless operations. p
In replying to my own observations what I did may or may not help you. Use your own judgment and see how things work out as all PC’s are different, that is a fact.
