Norton virus scanning stays at 0

Hi Guys,

Hopefully you can help this go away (I'm a computer novice and have no idea what to do). This virus means that when I try scanning virus' using my norton protection it doesn't do anything, it just keeps it at having scanned 0 items. I have Windows Vista.

When I click to open up internet explorer I get the following message:

globalroot\systemroot\system32\ESQULpsbqrpagnjvxlmycivxfbcqqoqmxfoot.dll not designed to run on Windows or contains an error. Try installing the program again or contact the system administrator or software vendor.

I also get the following error message:

The procedure entry point_resetstkoflw could not be located in the dynamic link library msvcrt.dll

I also get finally the message after these:

Java(TM) Platform SE binary stopped working.

Any help to get rid of this and have my laptop run smoothly again would be really appreciated.

Many Thanks

Tom
