Norton VPN not being able to connect to DNS

As others have mentioned - the Norton VPN loses it's ability to connect to the DNS preventing internet access and that  the connection initially works and then disconnects  without notification.  After that occurs connection is blocked due to DNS issues.   Does anybody know if it is on the DNS server end or Norton's end.  Maybe Norton's VPN team needs to communicate with the DNS server providers and determine how to fix this issue.  It has been occurring for at least a month now.  Does anybody know of a solution other than shut off the VPN?

The address I see for DNS under Norton VPN is 10.255.0.0.  Which tells me it may be a configuration or DNS provider issue on Norton's end.  This is from the ipconfig information given by the Windows 10 troubleshooter that points at the DNS.

Note: that when Norton VPN is shutoff connection resumes
