What good is the Norton VPN if when using it I am "access denied on this server" almost everywhere I go? If I turn off the Norton VPN then it gives me access to the site I want but then I'm unprotected. Is there a fix for this problem or do I just turn the VPN off and leave it off?

Some websites do not allow access thru a VPN.
You cannot do anything to change how they accept their inquiries. You will have to turn off the VPN for those times you go those websites. It could be country specific so depending on where you are you can change VPN region to a different country.
You will have to keep experimenting and you will come to some resolution.
