I have been a Norton user since shortly after Norton was first introduced to the market. I run Norton 360 and Norton Utility and considered it doing a good job. Today I helped a friend who just runs Norton Virus XXXX who had a malware that Norton could not find. I ran the free download version of Malwarebytes (quick scan) it found pox 80 files which it deleted and fixed the PC.
I came home and ran it on my PC running the two Norton programs above, it found 62 bad files. I checked to see it Norton had
a program of equal and could not find one. Why did 360 a Utility programs not catch these and do you have a program of equal
that I am not aware of and if not do you have one planned for the future. THANKS; Faithful Norton Fan

It depends on what Malwarebytes found. Malwarebytes will alert to many things that are not actually threats, and will also give multiple entries for each detection, making it appear that there are more risks found than there actually are. Without knowing what was detected, it is not possible to say whether these were things that Norton should have alerted to or not.
As SendOfJive noted, without knowing what MBAM found it is hard to comment.
It is possible that what MBAM found were PUPs, Possibly Unwanted Programs. Norton does not look for these as they do not actually cause any damage to a user's system. Yes, they are annoying and can be difficult to remove, but some users actually want the "features" offered by these programs. They are usually downloaded as an "add on" to a legitimate program download, and the user has missed the check box to not get the extras.
No one security software will catch 100% of all malware 100% of the time. That is why we have been suggesting second opinion scans with programs like the Free Malwarebytes or SuperAntiSpyware.
