Norton went berserk and now my Kindle can't connect

About two weeks ago, when it started to run its scan, Norton ran into a problem and had to be reinstalled.  It had to be reinstalled a total of six times that night before it would actually acknowledge that it was correctly installed. Since then, my Kindle cannot see my router and so cannot connect to WiFi.  The router doesn't show up on the Kindle's WiFi list like it used to, and I've tried to add the router by its IP address but the Kindle says its too far away, when the Kindle is 6" from the router. I have reset the router, turned the router off for 30 seconds to 8 hours, reset the Kindle, factory reset the Kindle, talked to Amazon, and talked to my internet service provider.  Of course, it's not their fault.  But when I ran Kindle diagnostics on WiFi connections, there it was.  My Kindle's MAC address is being blocked and my computer's firewall is blocking it.  Well that last one is a mistake.  I don't use the Window's firewall; I use Norton's.  I prowled the many areas of the firewall and I can't figure out where it's blocking the Kindle.  As it stands. I have a router with all the right lights on, and a dead $400 Kindle that's less than 2 months old.  What am I missing?
