We develop a software product which is having digital sign and it is trusted. Since we keep on updating the software, so exe file also keep on changing but name of the file will remain the same. So for every change the Norton file insight counts the number of users as few and trustiness as low. (same kind of problem is discussed in http://community.norton.com/t5/Norton-Internet-Security-Norton/Reputation-False-Positives-do-big-software-developers-get/m-p/817076#M219119). For our files Norton file insight was showing the file as ‘Attention required’ warning. So I submitted the file to false positive and now the problem has solved. Since we keep on updating the file so there will be small changes to it. So should I submit it every time to show the file as ‘Safe’? What is the difference between white listing and false positive? When should I submit the product to ‘white listing’ and when to ‘false positive’?
