I just used Verizon's speed test with and without using Norton WiFi Privacy. Before running the comparison, I had a "chat" with Norton for advice to avoid speed problems with their product. They suggested I make sure the server is local. Done.
Without Norton WiFi privacy: download speed was 58.15 Mbps, upload speed was 60.29 Mbps.
With Norton WiFi running, the download speed was 1.70 Mbps, upload speed 14.75 Mbps.
On average, using Norton WiFi Privacy decreased speeds by about 50 Mbps, making it nearly unusable. What price privacy?
