brunkel:I purchased Norton WiFi Privacy a week ago, and have had problems ever since. My MacBook Pro goes dead on me often with the message “You shut down your computer because of a problem’, and I have done nothing
Thank You,
Hi @brunkel
If you mac shuts down unexpectedly you would have the option to submit a crash report to apple. The report would state the process responsible for the crash. You can post the output here and we might be able to identify the issue. Also you can have a chat to Symantec (norton.com/chat)
Other users are also seeing large speed drops. Norton is looking into this.
You can contact Norton Support to request your refund. You have 60 days, so no problem with your request. www.norton.com/contactcs
Thanks for letting us know you found a solution.
I tried that and had to reload WiFi Privacy and it seems to work OK now......probably just one of the quirky things that happened when it loaded.......
Check your spam folder for a notification from Gmail. I found I would get a warning that Gmail detected an unusual login attempt because the VPN was sending the login information from an unexpected set of IP addresses. This happens especially if you have a different country for your presence than where you actually live.
I just had to confirm on my Gmail account that it was me, and I was good to go.
You may have to turn off the Wifi privacy to check this.
