Norton won't complete full scan

Hi

I'm having problems with my Norton internet security since changing to Windows 10,in that when I click on full system scan, it will start and run, but won't complete. The pop up screen says that it's still "working" but it doesn't make any progress. Also if I try to cancel the scan, it won't shut down. I've tried uninstalling/re-installing, as has the Norton online rep, but to no avail. And suggestions?
