Norton Won't Start

Apps affected: NIS, LiveUpdate, NAV32, all Norton-installed products

I'm running Windows7 and have NIS2011 installed (and was working fine). I noticed an alert in the Windows Action Center indicating Windows Defender and Norton Internet Security are turned off. Clicking "Turn on now" opens "Do you want to run this program?" window requiring me to trust the publisher. After verifying the location and comparing to an identical system, I selected "Yes, I trust..." - nothing happens. NIS is also missing from system tray. Manually selecting NIS from programs menu doesn't work either. Any suggestions?

Welcome Blitzwing,

Do you have any other security products installed?  If so,  they will need to be removed thoroughly.

You may want to download the Norton Removal Tool and try reinstalling NIS12.  You can sign in to you Norton Account and download a fresh copy.  It will already be activated,  so you won't need your product key.

Please let us know how you get on.

Thanks,  Dave.

I took your advice and its working perfectly now.  Thanks for your help.

You're welcome!  Thanks for letting us know.

Dave.
