Good day
I have Norton 360 Lifelock(V 22.21.1.151). The backup takes a seriously long time.
If I tell Norton which folder to backup, why does it take so long to "search" for files. I told it where the files are. I currently only have one bakup set and I cleared all similar backup sets from the server using the web interface.
I have a 100MB Fiber line and it still takes forever to complete a backup. I saw some posts reporting setting the throttling, but I cannot find it in the new Norton. This also causes the backup to not complete sometimes and i have to rerun it.
I created a new Backup set and after 40 minutes it is still "Searching" for files
Please give me some advice of what I need to set or change
I am very happy with all the other features of the product.
Just another note. I do not have a SSD drive, while it is "searching" 100% of my drive resources are used
Good day
Just to be sure I checked. Attached are two screenshots. As I understand, this is what you mean, that only the files I want is selected or Included in the backup set.
Are there any other settings I can check or change?
Did you uncheck all the default file types that Norton suggests for backup? If not, it is trying to backup more than your 26 specified files. This would explain why it is scanning your system for so long.
The one thing that really gets me is that I specified 26 files. It took an hour on my machine to "search" them.
If I specify file by name, why does it need to Search?
It has always been slow. It seems to me, though, that it's working better than it used to. I don't know. Best thing to do is to set it and forget it. It will backup ... eventually.
