Norton360 Makes Keyboard unusable -- constantly grabs focus

Hello again @D-C
You’re reporting UI version: 1.0.111 did not fix focus issue.

Correct, UI 1.0.111 did not resolve the issue.

Pi-hole rules seem to have provided some relief. Will monitor more to confirm.

Yes this fix did nothing. This has plagued me for so long at this point. I got excited this morning and updated to 1.0.111 immediately. It has been absolutely terrible still. I’m at the end of my patience with this.

I confirm the same. Latest update (25.11.10580 / 1.0.111) worked properly for about 2 hours and is now back to same behavior of constantly grabbing focus. It seems that the only change was to delay the start of background operations and make the problem harder to reproduce rather than actually fixing the underlying bug.

The firewall rule suggestion is interesting but disabling my firewall in order to run the Norton advertising platform is not nearly so attractive a solution as un-installing.

and i has send it to senior teamet also so now they now it dont work expect a asp patch there is a new patch max Sunday ore ass fast ass they can fix it

The latest release Norton Security 25.11.10580 still DOES NOT fixes the focus issue. Its really annoying.

I see this happens only when a browser window in open - Chrome, Edge, etc. - otherwise it does not happens.

Hello @starpageup
We’ll try to call attention.

Norton arbejder på det lige nu ved jeg

I have been Norton user since early 2000’s and while adore the changes and new features the product has come through, especially as it doesn’t slows down the system so much compared to its legacy versions, I am annoyed by the fact that this Norton UI grabbing focus problem has been long running (I saw one of the threads to be of Oct 2024) and still Norton Devs haven’t prioritized and found a fix for this issue.

You know the worst part of this is when you are typing passwords in a window and suddenly Norton UI steals the focus, you would end up typing wrong password.

I have not experienced the issue since implementing the Pi-hole traffic rule. Not sure this will help long-term, or works for all users, but my system has been stable and I can work!

I still think this shouldn’t be a thing we’re dealing with and might reoccur if there is latency to the avast domain for whatever logging is happening behind the scenes.

i has send the info to the senior team and they send all the site info to the norton 360 team so they is looking on this case asp so dont worry ass if it only working ca 2 hours on som they will send a new hotfix

Also confirm this fixed issue for me.

I used advcdn net regex instead of avast com but they are ultimately the same thing.

Thank youi! I’ve struggled with this for at least 2 years! it just kept getting worse and worse especially when working from home. Our office is a mix of old and new technologists, so the moment the old timers feel you are misclicking or typing something incorrectly they immediately blast you on screensharing sessions, as they feel that makes then look like they are in control of the situation. This issue has caused so much embarrasment as it’s easier when working at home to use the VDI instead of the corp laptop.

I made the change and it’s been stable and more responsive for 24hrs. Hopefully this will hold going forward. From bits of info pulled from around the internet Norton switched to the Avast Engine so that finally explains why this change helps. For pi.hole management it appears the Steven Black list flags these sites. It’s really going to take a lot for me to stop using a pi.hole though. With the amount of ads/pops ups from Norton and the fact it’s also way too resource intensive (I have 40GB ram, with Norton, it runs like I only have 8GB) I’d sooner stop subscribing first.

Hi All: Somehow this is resolved for me and I don’t know how. The only thing I know is I did the error log upload as one of the support guy reached out to me on my email. It took about 10-15 days since the upload, but it seems resolved now. Even my focusmonitor.exe (App which I used to test this issue) is not showing any focus grabs from Norton UI anymore.
