After echoing similar problems being faced by other users here in other threads, I've been advised to start my own thread regarding this issue, so here goes.
Over the past couple of days, I've been striking numerous program crashes in programs like Adobe Reader, Internet Explorer & Microsoft Word, and they are all being caused by my Nortons 360 Premier Edition (ver 22.5.4.24). I know this for a fact because when I uninstall Nortons with the official Nortons removal tool, the problems disappear, but when I reinstall it, the problems return.
Several other users on here are being told that the cause of these problems is something called EMET, but that doesn't track in my case because I (as far as I know) don't have EMET on my computers.
Most of the computers effected have never run another security suite apart from some version of Nortons. One computer (years ago) ran CA antivirus, but I've never before struck any problems with Nortons because of this and as far as I know all traces of CA have been removed from the computer in question.
The computers involved run Comodo Firewall, but none of them have Comodo Defence+ enabled - the only active Comodo software on them is the Firewall.
Mainly, the computers with the problems are running Win7 Pro 64-bit, all fully updated. But I also have an older computer running WinXP Home 32-bit that has developed the same kind of problems in the past couple of days.
