Nortons 360 v.25 blocks printing to WiFi Brother printer (installed on WiFi)

Note: Please do not post Personally Identifiable Information like email address, personal phone number, physical home address, product key etc.

Issue abstract: Our printer is installed on the WiFi and used by several people. Our computers are using Windows 11 with Norton 360 or Windows defender.

Detailed description: Recent update to v.25 added the VPN which is nice, but now we can’t print unless we turn off the VPN.

Product & version number: Norton 360 v.25.3.9983

OS details: Windows 11 version 23H2

What is the error message you are seeing? No error message. Just nothing prints. The print request doesn’t reach the print que.

I installed the printer on my laptop (gave it a different name), added the executable file as an “Excluded software,” and it still blocks the printer (possibly because it is still on the WiFi) If I turn off the VPN, it will print. The only way I can print anything is to turn off the VPN, which is unacceptable as there are other people who are on the WiFi and using the printer. As a temporary work around, that’s what they are doing. Those using Windows defender are not having issues.
