@PIRABAKARAPANDIYAN_P Could you please provide a screenshot of what is shown in Task Manager when you open the Norton UI? Below is what I see my side:

I am also experiencing this issue on one of my computers. I have updated the video driver and restarted multiple times. I have not yet tried the uninstall/reinstall of Norton. This only really happens when I also try to stream a youtube video. If I stop the stream the Norton GPU usage drops but never goes to zero. My entire UI gets sluggish when this happens.

Hi @Waukman ,

Thanks for all this information.
I hope this issue will be solved soon !

Did you see the previous post of @Selvakumar.S ?
@PIRABAKARAPANDIYAN_P did you see it also ?

Are you volunteers to help the Norton Team by sharing additional diagnostic data on this issue ?

Please reply on the post of @Selvakumar.S if you’re interested.
Thank you in advance.

I am willing to volunteer to help diagnose this issue. This is additional data. Notice the GPU percentage. I have had instances where the GPU % will 100% and stay there.

I have found that if I disable the Smart Firewall feature that GPU usage drops back to normal. Right now that is the only way that I can watch any youtube videos. With the firewall enabled the video is choppy and the UI of Windows is also choppy.

Hi @Waukman ,

Just a personal hypothesis that might be worth checking : your GPU is overheating when you watch YouTube videos if your firewall is enabled.
Reading your description, I can’t help but connect it to the new Norton Deepfake Protection feature.
I suggest you disable it and see if that resolves your GPU saturation issue without having to disable your firewall (which is much more secure!).
I can’t guarantee anything, but it seems like a perfectly plausible hypothesis.

Interesting. That does seem to have an impact. If I turn it off the Deepfake feature I am able to stream many youtube videos at the same time (both live and recorded). The GPU % sits in the high single digits. If I enable the Deep fake feature and repeat the test I start peeking at 100%. It is also interesting that to get the GPU% back down I have to kill all firefox instances and wait, maybe 20 seconds, before the numbers go back down.

Hello all,

I’m experiencing this problem as well. After updating Norton 360 on 5/1/26 I noticed my NVDIA GPU activity monitor was lit up. nortonui.exe is using GPU for some reason. It didn’t do that before updating. I updated my video drivers and it’s still doing it, ran a full scan no malware found. I’d rather not re-install but I will if absolutely necessary. I don’t want my GPU getting burned up for a 2D UI. Screenies attached. I looked in task manager too, it intermittently shows GPU usage in there.

Seems like Norton pushed an update and it caused this. Keep us posted on a fix please.

See my above post in this thread.

@360user125 My daily duster shows these apps running against my GPU. Norton UI isn’t present even with the UI open at the time of the screenshot. Note - This is an older GPU IMA.

I have integrated graphics on this laptop. I seem to remember my last laptop had discrete graphics and I seem to remember being able to allow and reject apps that can use the GPU. Check your settings for that.

Tried to use nvidia settings to force nortonui.exe to use integrated graphics. That’s the first thing I tried. Didn’t work. There’s no reason my av should be using GPU IMO.

My suggestion was to see if you could set Nortonui.exe to not use the GPU.

Just updated AMD drivers too. Set nortonui.exe to run on iGPU in both windows settings and nvidia. No dice. It’s AV so i imagine it has higher priority than other apps. I dunno next is re-install. Not a huge deal really, I’ll wait for another update from Norton before I NRnR tool it.

C’mon Norton! You can fix it! … :frowning:

Appreciate the help guys, thanks.

What, if anything changes with removal of Norton as allowed in the Nvidia settings? Regardless of which video devices are selected.
