Not able to install Norton 360, need refund, purchased through Amazon

Been trying since Sunday to install new 360 on old hp laptop been onto help desk they have spent hours in my machine and nothing works so have tried for a refund but have to send all documents to USA and if they agree will only sent cheque as Amazon will not refund on a download Has anyone any ideas or have I just been ripped off. Thanks

You mention having to send documentation to the USA. Where are you located?

Is there any other non Norton security software installed on the old laptop? If so, it needs to be fully removed using the removal utility for that software.
