If there are any suggestions as to how I can accomplish this, it would be greatly apprecaited. I've been trying, unsuccessfully to image my existing 100GB hard drive to a larger, 320GB hard drive for my Lenovo T60p laptop. I'm currently at 85GB capacity and I would like to replace the existing drive with a larger one.
I have Ghost 14.0 and it has been updated through Live Unpdate. I'm running Windows XP Pro (SP2). The OEM disk has a 4.7GB System partition that is hidden and the balance for the Windows XP Pro OS. I've tried reading through ALL the posts on this website, including the Adivisory that has been posted, RTFM, and still nothing. I've tried imaging the hidden partition first with copy MBR, Set Drive Active, Verification of both existing and new drives and when I replace the drive into the laptop and try booting, nothing but a flashing curser.
I've tried disk copy of the C partition, resize drive, copy MBR, Set Drive Active, Verify and assign (and not assigning) drive letter. All of this completes "Successfully" but when I replace the drive in the laptop, BIOS sees the drive but will not boot.
I've even tried the full backup to an attached USB disk, booted from the Ghost CD, had the 320GB drive installed, run the Recover my Computer, but still no luck.
I'm getting frustrated but want to keep trying as I don't like it when the computer wins! :-) Any suggestions as I would like to get both the hidden "Lenovo Service Partition" as well as the C drive with all my files copied over to the new drive. I can live without the sevice partition, so I'm okay with just getting the new drive in there with all my files and the OS.
Thanks, can777
