Not compatible with Android?

I'm a subscriber to Norton 360 for my Windows 10 PC and recently responded to an Email from Norton inviting me to apply my subscription to my Android cell phone.  The cell is a Kyocera Hydro Vibe and the Android system is 4.4.2.

I opened up the invitation Email on my cell and clicked the download link in the message.  Instead of a download I got the following message:  "Device not compatible.  This version of Norton 360 does not run on the android operating system."

What's up with this?  The invitation Email says that Norton 360 is compatible with Android.  Thanks in advance for your help.

Thank you, Andmike.  Your reply was very clear and very helpful.  I'll download the mobile version of Norton as you suggest.

Based on your reply, I think Norton just made a boo-boo in their Email.  Thanks again.

Hi Homask.

Welcome to the Norton Community Forums.

Norton 360 is not compatible with Android as far as I am aware.  Norton licenses for Norton Security and Norton 360 MD do allow you to use an Android app called Norton Security and Antivirus (normally called Norton Mobile Security or NMS) and this is available from the Google Play store.

So it appears that the email from Norton misled you but as Norton should know what license you have this seems odd.  Maybe you could contact the free 24 hrs Norton Chat link where you will be put in touch with Norton Staff (not just users as you normally find here) and ask if there is a misunderstanding or a special offer.

If you want to look at what NMS can provide on your Android device (regardless of your N 360 license) then using your phone go to the Google Play store and install Norton Security and Antivirus.  There are two varieties of this, the paid and the unpaid.  If you have a valid license you would get the paid version, but the first time you download it you get access to all the features free for 30 days.  So if you want you can see what it is like.

I hope that helped.
