Not getting any activity

I have set up Online Faimily Norton on my daughters computer which is running Windows XP. I set it up to monitor all, however I am getting the no activity, I know she is always on MS live and this is what I really want to monitor, I have read other comments and noticed about a add-on I do not remember adding one on her computer. I also see that her computer is running the program. any suggestions would be great.

thanks

Hi ref10234,

Do you see your daughter's profiles under Settings -> Profile (GO) are protected as shown in the screen snap?

It seems to be working now, however I have a question on IM my daughter uses MSN live it does not seem to be picking it up, I have chat supervison O, how ever it does not log anything. Does the program work with MSN live? I also have this setting checked; Monitored: Chat is allowed, but conversation logs of new IM friends can be viewed.

Hi ref10234,

I assume your daugher uses MSN Messenger, then yes, we support it.  OnlineFamily.Norton supports following Instant Messengers to monitor Instant Messaging activity for your child. But we don't support Web browser based clients of IM.

• Yahoo Messenger

• MSN Messenger

• Windows Live Messenger

• AIM (AOL Instant Messenger)

• Google Talk

Thanks,

Katie

I have the same problem.  My situation is a bit more complex:  Activity is being logged for one of my kids, but not the others.  I have checked to see that all of them are protected, and seem to have identical settings (except for the list of sites which are blocked).

The solution you offered was offline to the other user, so I could not see it.  Any suggestions?

P.S.  More information:  Even for those that do not show activity, they are reaching their daily limits.  I have had to give them extensions.

P.P.S.  I am using ESET for anti-virus / firewall.

Hi kandewolf,

When did it start not recording the activities for those kids, since the beginning right after you installed Norton Safety Minder on the PC or it stopped recording after awhile?

Thanks,

Katie

Im having exactly the same problem and ive been using norton for months....its been like this since 11am yesterday morning!

Katie,

For one of my boys, it never recorded.  For the other, it recorded for a day and not since (two days ago now).  Again, for both of the boys, it has enforced their time limits....just no activity.

kandewolf,

Please make sure only give non-administrative rights to their Windows accounts.

Please uninstall/reinstall Norton Safety Minder on the PC to see if it helps.

Thanks,

Katie

I stated on a different thread that i have already tried a reinstall.....and none of them have admin rights.

I found instead that the Windows accounts needed passwords.  I am running under Vista on one PC and XP on the other.  It seems that the Security Minder logs activity only if it finds a password.  Is that possible?  I seem to be all set now that I have added passwords.  Initially, only my daughter's account had a password.  Her activity had been logged from the start.
