I have been using Norton as my Antivirus for several years now. I have Windows XP and Norton Internet Security 2010. Six days ago Norton stopped updating. I have done some research and found a solution that required me to check the date on my PC. I found it was a day out but it is running correctly now as of 21st September. Still Norton will not update. I have checked all settings and they are correct. I need to sort this problem ASAP and would very much appreciate ideas please.
Hi collett_046,
Welcome to the Norton Community. What is your version of NAV 2010 from Help > About?
Is the Live Update option still enabled? What happens if you run Live Update manually? Does this work?
Also, you are entitled to a free upgrade to NAV 2011 if your subscription is current.
You can download the full version of NAV 2011 from here. Note, this is for the English version of NAV, please let me know if you need a different language. If everything else but live update is working Ok, you can upgrade over the top of your current installation.
As a precaution, please make note of your product key which you can get from your Norton Account.
Hope this helps.
Best wishes.
Allen
Hello collet_046
Since you had a time problem, please run subscription status under help and support to synchronize your program to the Norton servers. Please make sure that the date is still correct since having time problems like that could mean that you might need to replace the cmos battery on your mother board.
Also, since it's not clear from your post if you have NAV 2010 or NIS 2010, here is the link for NIS 2011 also since Allen gave you the link for NAV 2011.

Please run live update until no more updates and then reboot.
Please pick the correct program based on the key that you have and the program. They are not interchangeable. Thanks
Many thanks for your help and Allen's also. I have NIS 2010 and have downloaded following the link you gave me. Norton is now fully updated and running sweetly again. I have had problems with my time and this week the date so I am going to research installing a new cmos battery, thanks for the heads up.
Hello collett
Thanks for coming back and giving us an update. Check your motherboard specs on their website and you should find the cmos battery size and how to replace if that is the cause of the problem. You can run the intelligent updater daily also until you find the problem with the time and get that fixed. Just pick the right intelligent updater according to your product, year and whether 32 or 64 bit.
