Notification Icon missing

Ever since I updated to NMS Version 3.20.0.3291 on both my phone and tablet, the Ongoing Notifications Icon keeps disappearing.  Also, it no longer automatically does Live Update, I have to manually do it.  I emailed NMS feedback, and they suggested I reinstall Norton, and to let them know if it didn’t help.  Well, it did NOT help, on either of my devices, and now they won’t respond back to my email telling them about this.

Interesting observation from my testing. I have two identical phones, HTC Desire 320. One does not have a SIM card or SD card, and I just use this for testing.

The one with no SIM or SD card has issues displaying the notification icon. My daily phone works correctly.  ?????

The last email they sent me (June 29) said they have "reported this to the concerned team and they are working on this".  They are aware that this is happening to multiple users, so I really hope a fix will be out soon.  I am putting off buying a new phone, because I don't want to install a barely functioning Norton Security App on it.  I have been in contact with them since June 21, I don't know what the holdup is. sad

Same problem here. Tried the basics, clearing data, reinstalling and the above suggestion. None solves the issue, the icon just does not appear on boot as before. You have to manually engage the feature every time you boot.

MotoG3 android 6.0

I have a Moto G (1st gen) with Android 5.1, and a Lenovo Tablet, also Android 5.1. Problem on both devices since update. I have been sporadically emailing NMS support, but sometimes it takes them 4 days to respond, or they respond by asking a question (same one you just did) at 12:45 am.  When I told them my phone specs, they gave me instructions about sending a debug log.  That's when I discovered another problem.  I enabled the 'debug log' by moving the button in settings to 'on'.  However, when I turn the phone off, then back on, the button has been switched to 'off'.  Thus, I cannot send them a Debug Log (not to mention I have no Support Case ID). I have to turn the phone off to reproduce the issue, because the Icon disappears 3 seconds into startup.

There are also other people complaining about this in Google Play Reviews.  This is a problem that Norton created on many devices.

FYI...in my case the problems are occurring on two LG smartphones. One running on android 4.1.2 and the other android 4.4.

Hi @Rubybear9

Can you please provide details like which device you are using and on which OS version it is running on?

I'm having the same issue on both my android phones. I'm also experiencing another problem since updating to version 3.20, the sound profile on both phones periodically is reset to "silent".

I have uninstalled and reinstalled, turned the phone off and back on, and just tried your specific suggestion.  Still have the problem.  The only way to get the icon to show up is to open the app settings, turn the Ongoing Notifications button off and then back on again. However, the next time I turn the phone off, when I turn it back on, the icon is gone again.

As far as the Live Updates, after a few days, I noticed in the Activity Log that it had not done Live Update.  I manually updated, and there were new updates available.  This has happened a couple of times since I updated to this latest version.

For the ongoing notifications icon missing, have you gone to NMS Settings and disabled the Notifications and then restart your device and set the notifications again?

How often are you expecting the LiveUpdates to run?
