Four days ago (Wednesday 11/4/15), I stepped away from my computer with Firefox 40.0.2 up and running--the Norton Vault had worked with it all day. I came back an hour or two later and the web page I had left open was gone--just my Google home page was displayed--and the Norton Toolbar and my local Vault had vanished. I have Firefox Update turned off to make sure I wouldn't get Version 42 before the Norton patch was ready. Norton was Enabled in my Add-Ons, but wouldn't work. I tried chatting with Symantec Support. The tech took over my computer, looked around, and gave up almost immediately, saying that they were working hard on a patch to solve this problem. I was very angry, since I still have Firefox 40, but the tech ignored all my questions about why it no longer worked. Then I looked at my Live Update history, and Live Update had run automatically while I was away from the computer. I was stunned to realize that Norton had pushed out some sort of update that actually blew me out of the water! Norton updated me (and probably a lot of other folks) to a version of the toolbar that is not compatible with Firefox 40!!! Why in the world would such an irresponsible and truly mean thing have been done? The Support tech said the fix would be ready in 3 days. Well, it is 3 days today, and no fix. I am beyond upset. I will not use IE or Chrome. So, I have to look up every login in my Vault in Norton itself and type the values in at every site I go to. Why did they do this to me? :--((
