NPE 2.0 Directory scan and IP reset

Hi everyone,
I just downloaded NPE 2.0.52 Italian.

First question:
I no more have the option of scan a directory. It it by design or is it an error?

Second question:
When I run NPE it try to reset hosts file and ip config. Why it do that? Is it normal?
