NPE after regular scan (as a peripheral) NPE 4 mystery files not recognized by the cloud library inquiry

NPE* after regular scan (as a peripheral)

Regular scan as a peripheral nabbed 2 Trojans (Yay Norton!!!)

NPE 4 mystery files not recognized by the cloud library inquiry.

I have pics of the full file names: see attached graphic for the 4 long file names of the unknown suspect files.

NPE after regular scan (as a peripheral) NPE 4 mystery files not recognized by the cloud library inquiry. Thus THIS post.

*Norton Power Eraser.

Thanks, giving,

backstory: Got a used computer. Scanning it. Learning curve with "improved" operating system.

(what do you call the perfect OS? A: "Obsolete".)

Thanks PeterWeb!

I think he was a liquidator who erased and reinstalled an OS.

Maybe with spyware installed too. I have cleaned it out though. I have transplanted the HDD into an OS-version-appropriate machine, so now it is kind of a Frankenstein machine.  Not sure it has the right license number though. I will peek inside the battery box to see if that is in there.

Here is some information on the 'WPD SqmUpload' detection. It seems it is part of the Media Player customer experience option.  https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/ace60eb9-34d2-420a-9f5c-38817d9f4d9b/task-scheduler-wpd-sqmupload-?forum=w7itproinstall   It appears that this is a legit Microsoft task that can be removed by changing settings in Media Player.

And here is some information on AutoPico.  This appears to be related to illegally activating Windows and MS Office.   https://www.file.net/process/autopico.exe.html    I would allow the removal of this item. You say this was a used computer. Maybe the previous owner tried to save a little money???
