I downloaded NPE.exe from Norton's website to look for a suspected virus. It found IesDrv.sys but failed to fix it, now what? Googling, I only find virus fixer websites, no description however. I searched my registry and found two instance of LEGACY_IesDrv but Regedit would not allow me to delete them. Symantec's site searches don't find anything. Anybody know anything about this? Steve
I discovered what IesDrv.sys is on my own.
It stands for Intellegent Energy Savinings. It was provided by Asrock (my new motherboard) for throttle back the processor when it is not beeing used heavily.
