NPE v5.2 Crashing

I've been having some issues* with my Win10 PC and I wanted to run a deeper check than that covered by my up to date Norton Security Package (22.10.0.85).  I have made several attempts to run NPE in the normal Windows Environment, Diagnostic modes and safe mode (with Networking).  I have tried running from the link embedded in Norton Security (Security History) and after downloading the latest version from the Symantec website.  All attempts result in NPE crashing either whilst 'checking for updates' or whilst 'Initializing'.  I've also tried running it as Administrator, all to no avail.

Having looked at the forum I tried the suggestion of downloading the NBRT iso and booting from that. That crashed when I tried to use it, only tried it once and can't remember the exact details, but it gave an error so I rebooted.

I have used NPE several times in the past, both on my own machines and others and never had an issue.

*Norton has reported a few security alerts, one relating to tablezip.info, that it trapped, a few 'high outgoing data' alerts.

Those watching this thread. We have asked for more logs and details from Original Mr. Bean.

Will respond back here once we nail this.

Thank You,

Hi Original Mr. Bean,

We are still investigating. Sorry for the delay.

Jeff

Wondering if there is any progress yet?  I have recently installed the latest win10 update and it's no change as far as NPE is concerned frown

Thanks @Original Mr Bean - we got em. We appreciate your help.

Log files sent!

Additionally, you can compress the logs, and add them in a comment to this thread in the "log files" section below. Don't worry, no other people can access these files, just employees with special privileges. Thanks.

Hi Original Mr. Bean,

I would like to gather the logs and see if we can figure out what is going on.

Log location for NPE would be : C:\Users\--username–\AppData\Local\NPE\.

Please send them to me in a private message.

Thank You,

Jeff

Thanks Krusty13, might be worth a look.  I'm not really trying quick fix, just trying to get NPE to run, it has run OK before, but something is causing it a problem.

I'm more than happy to dig about on my machine and remove things manually if need be, the hardest bit is always identifying the cuplrit, if there is one, which I'm not certain there is.

Firstly, please do NOT try any 'quick fixes' or to solve this yourself.

It sounds like it's time to sign up for assistance from one of the free malware removal sites.  Please pick one and stay with them until your system is clean.

Nop, made diddly squat difference, NPE still crashes :-(

Mmmm, interesting suggestion, I haven't, but it crashed before it gets to the restart, but worth a try...

Hello Original Mr Bean

Have you tried it with Fast Startup turned off?

Thanks.
