NSS/Comcast defeats screensaver

Just recently the Norton Summary PopUp has begun to display all night - even while the screensaver (standard "blank" screensaver) is still on - my monitors appear to be in screensaver mode - all blank - except the NSS summary screen on the main monitor.  No wallpaper, no taskbar, etc., just a black screen with the NSS summary shining through.

Any ideas how I can set NSS to NOT display this summary  page or at least not poke through the screensaver?

Not the monthly but the daily summary.  The one that reminds you it's cleaned up cookies, etc.

This is the daily popup. It illuminates my office  all night long...

Have you by chance set this scan up as a scheduled task in Windows Task Scheduler?

If so, you can add a  /noresults (note there is a space in front of the /) to the end of the Run block entry and it will not display the results of the scan.

It is schedle within Norton, settings, Task Scheduling, Automatic Tasks.

Unless my NSS is different from your NSS, the Virus and Spyware Scan is not included in Task Scheduling, Automatic Tasks.

I just ran a manual Quick Scan and also got the screen you posted in your last post.  So I am curious if you received a virus definition update which produced a Quick Scan .  Since the screen saver was running, it could not produce the little square saying the Quick Scan was completed and thus you got the maximized version????

This is beyond me, as I do not use a screen saver, hopefully someone else wil be able to provide more info.

To add to that - I do review the results, so hiding them would problematic over time. -  just don't want to have my screen saver over ridden.

LCDs don't burn-in but they do develop artifacts and dead-center is the wrong place for a ghost image.

That reminds me of a threat a while back, a screensaver was overridden and allowed system access.
