You mentioned in an earlier post that since you are new to PC's, you explore around different areas of your computer.

 

However, it is not required nor recommended that you right click and scan every file that you find. There are some files that should be left alone and the ones you mentioned are in that group.

 

During a full system scan NIS 2008 will check all of the pertinent items on your computer in a safe manner.

 

If you are exploring to learn, you must exercise caution and when you come across a "new" item to you, research it on the internet as to what it is and how it works in your system.

will take note.this is the advice i am looking for.i get frustrated by looking things up on the net as you say.but being able to understand the tech talk is another matter,i think i'm getting better at it.thanks again for your advice.
