Hi all,
Switched to Norton last year, and as it's up for renewal, am trying to decide if I should stick with it. Norton did do a good job reducing system performance impact, which is my #1 criteria for AV, so was probably going to renew.
But, I think they really blew it on the renewal process. First off, the thing seems to have completely deactivated. Of course I'd expect updates to stop, but it strikes me as unprofessional to simply leave a user's computer open. Plus, it just threw up some wanna-be scary "your subscription has expired! you're in danger!" thing that was so overdone my mind parsed it as a scareware popup.
Is it renewal time for anyone else out there? What are y'all thinking of doing? I'm torn between sticking with nortion or switching back to [competitor's product--are we allowed to name them?], which I still think runs a little leaner and didn't fully deactivate after the year was up.
Tom
