Hi there,
I have been emailing a very nice chap at Norton namely a Mr Tony Weiss regarding an issue that my Partner has experienced recently, two transactions of £29.99 totalling £59.98 was taken from his bank account for a subscription to Norton which he himself neither ordered or required.
He contacted the Bank and although he had got in touch with them BEFORE the monies left his account stating that this was a purchase he knew nothing about and was questioning the authenticity of it, the Bank SANTANDER still allowed the funds to leave his account and said that in 30 days he would be able to raise an objection and they would seek to refund the monies back into his bank account, now some 4 weeks later nothing has been resolved and SANTANDER repeatedly advise him to ask Norton to resolve the problem.
My Partner Mr Anthony Phillips does not possess a computer and uses mine, as a regular subscriber to Norton, I have it on automatic renewal from my own Bank Account so the reasoning behind these purchases are bizarre. Norton have sent an invoice for £39.99 not £59.98 which is the amount that he has been charged, so even that does not make any sense. All that Mr Phillips is trying to do is to obtain a refund and is able to provide evidence of the transactions via a copy of his Bank Statement and all that SANTANDER can do is to pass the buck and repeatedly tell him to get in touch with Norton.
In conclusion, 'Is there anybody there' that can advise Mr Phillips how to get back the £59.98 that was in effect illegally taken from his Bank Account, as I said to Mr Weiss also in administration at Norton, Norton is the least likely organisation that would be happy to be linked with fraudulent transaction, indeed they are there to protect their customers. Please advise how Mr Phillips can obtain a full refund of the £59.98 with the least amount of hassle.
Regards.
