Oh my god Im so stupid!

Hi, can anyone give me any advise on a really dumb  thing i've done.  My norton360 security wont let me access my settings, firewall, etc...as its asking for my password for access. I've tried every password thats linked with my norton but nothing! I was advised by the tech online to reset my norton account password but this is not the password its asking for, but did that anyway.  Is there anyway I can find out my password to access the settings or will I need to re-install the whole thing again.

Any help would be most appreciated.

Thanks

Dee.

yes of course i have,  but it tells me i entered the incorrect password, when I obvioulsy set the password up for access to protect my setting being changed I was certain I wrote it down. thanks anyway

Hi,

There is no necessity now to reinstall the product.

Here is the way on how to do it...

"You can reset the password in the window that appears when you choose to uninstall Norton 360. You need not uninstall the product to reset your password. You can use the reset settings password option in the uninstall preference window to reset your password. This option appears in the uninstall preference window only when you have set a settings password. You can set a new password after typing the randomly generated characters that are displayed in the dialog box to reset your password.

You can turn off the Settings Password Protection option if you no longer require password protection for Norton 360 settings."

If you wrote it down then it was something you don't use regularly. If you used a pad of paper the impression might be on the second page and you can read that. I have to keep a pad with the usernames and passwords I seldom use because I can't remember them all. It has saved the day more than once.

OH THANKYOU SO VERY MUCH Prasanna,  it worked!  thankgod for this site.

Many thanks

Dee

thankyou so much for your help also...problem solved

Hi Dee,

Good to know its solved.

Whenever you find some issue with our product or when you feel like something is going wrong with the product, just land in here but we request a favour from your side. Instead of postin a new thread, you can just search through the already available threads which would solve your problems mostly. Because, we in this forum discuss about all kinds of issues with the product and most of them will already have a solution. If you have something else or if you dont find a solution, you can very well post a new thread and you are never stopped from posting a thread but just wanted to share the info.

regards,

Prasanna
