I use N360 premier latest version with one month left on subscription.
Amazon.com has alot of older versions for sale. If I were to buy lets say V3.0 or 4.0 etc. and on the last day of my subscription use the code from the newly bought older version, will it work and update just like the new ones?

So far as I know both those KEYs will work on V 5 which is the current release -- provided your Amazon source is a reliable one: some products offered via Amazon's website come from third party supplies and personally I'm not crazy about those having been let down badly on delivery.
I can't speak for future versions of N 360 like V6 since they may work on a rolling basis and drop the older ones as time goes by.
If you read some of the messages here you will spot a link to a reputable source who are offering N 360 V5 3 PC for $45 with a $45 refund from Norton but on a very short time scale.
Maybe none of said this clearly but your V4 KEY will/woould have activateed V6 so you don't have to use the KEY to reintall V4 and then update to V6 --- re-reading I'm not sure if you meant that kind of update (which Norton calls Upgrade) or update in the sense of keeping the definitions that protect you uptodate.
