One Click Support Keeps Launching

This is an irritant more than anything else, but the One Click Support Tool for my Internet Security 2009 keeps launching of its own accord. This happens once or twice a day, usually when I am nowhere near the desktop or anywhere else where I might have inadvertantly clicked on something. Somethimes just reading an email with hands nowhere near keyboard or mouse, up pops Norton Support! Anyone else experienced this? I have run Live Update just to make sure I’m fully up to date - I am.

This may be because NIS finds that there is an issue with your system. What you do not say is what happens if you progress the tool, it may run a diagnostic so you should follow it through. to be sure manually run one click.

 

Since NIS2010 is available for free update to most NIS2009 users you should check if you are eligible and perhaps consider the upgrade.

Thanks - good point, I haven't let the tool progress. When it first started happening I was convinced that I must have been inadvertantly launching it somehow, so I just stopped it. Since then I am sure that it is not launching because of anything I do, however, my first reaction has been to simply stop it & carry on with whatever I am doing.

 

I have now manually launched it & let it progress through its scan as you suggest - no issues found.

 

NIS 2009 is such a vast improvement on 2008 I'm in no hurry to upgrade to 2010 until I've had a chance to see what others think of it & any bugs have been ironed out, but thanks for the reminder!
