Online Family Deleted Web Favorites

Any suggestions as to how to restore favorites in Explorer?

Hi faithmb,

Please tell us why you're so sure Online family deleted your web favorites, so we can try to reproduce and work on it.

Thanks,

Katie

Hi -- I installed OFN on my kids' computer today.  When they went to log in under their newly created accounts, they said there was no browsing history, no favorties.  I am still an account on that computer and when they log in as me, they have all the history there.  BTW, I couldn't figure out how to take me off that computer so they can't log in as me -- I thought I had done so but apparently not.

I love the OFN concept, but I found it a bit cryptic.  I am a reasonably adept computer used, but I had some trouble figuring out how to do it.  For instance, we have 3 computers in the house that my kids can use.  So, I gather that they need to log in as themselves for the timine feature and all the controls to be in use.  So, how do I prevent them from logging in as, for instance, me on the other computers?  And, how do your controls fit in with Windows controls?  On my laptop, I am now getting a window asking me for my password in order to log on or resume after it has been asleep.  I never had this before.  Again, a bit cryptic as I was never warned that this would be the case.

Thanks for any help you can give me.

Hi faithmb,

It’s normal that the browsing history and favorites are not transferred over when an user logs into a PC with a new user account, so OFN and Norton Safety Minder have nothing to do with it.

You don’t need to take your account off the computer.  Since you have the Administrator rights,  please create a password for the account and don’t share it with your kids.  By the way, we suggest that you shouldn't give your kids Administrator rights for their Windows accounts.

Could you explain the meaning of  “how do your controls fit in with Windows controls?”

Also, I’m not sure if the program has anything to do with “getting a window asking me for my password in order to log on or resume after it has been asleep”.  Do you other two computers get the same message?  If you could give me some details on this, I’ll try to reproduce it….No luck recreating is so far.

Thanks,

Katie
