Over one year ago I set-up Norton Online Family on all of my PC's and set time restrictions. The shut down time was 9 p.m. However, as my one child was working later for school projects, I attempted to lift the restrictions. I first move the time to 10 p.m. - yet they would get blocked at 9 p.m.
finally about two months ago, I turned off the monitoring all together. Tonight, while online, my daughter got logged off at 9 p.m. Why is this happening?
it's always helpful to confirm settings my select "view time remaining" on the child's windows account which is monitored. if the settings are not what you expect after you have changed them, you can select "update house rules" from the tray icon to get the latest rules downloaded to the machine.
I did click the update button, repeatily, and confirmed the account. What I was not aware of was the update house rules option until the other night. I clicked it while logged in to my profile. Is that enough or do I need to do it from her profile?
Sometimes the Parental Control option of the Windows Operating System (for Windows 7, Vista) may be causing the issue, as I have experienced it. So we need to check it. You can find the option under Control Panel. Click on Start Button and select the option Control Panel, There you can find the option Parental Controls. Under that one, you can find whether you have enabled the Parental Control for your child's User Account. Please Disable it or check the Time limitations set for that Account. Hope that will fix the issue.
