Is there a particular reason why the Kudos button does not work in the Online Family Norton Forum or is this an oversight/bug?

Internet Explorer 8. Even if I run in compatibility mode it is the same. I see the same issue if I run Firefox 3.6.3.
I can confirm this error on IE8 (Win7) as well.
In addition to the above:
If you are not logged in to the Forum, the 'New Message' and the 'Reply' buttons on the Online Family board are in their 'enabled' state ie not greyed out. This is inconsistent with how these buttons behave on other boards within the Forum when a user has not signed in.
