Last night, 4 Symantec technicians tried to help me with a problem I was having with LiveUpdate. Three of them had controll of my computer remotely. I was watching as the last tech tried to remove an older version of Internet Security so he could update my service to the 2009 version....without any warning, my computer shut down and restarted. After the reboot, my desktop blank--no start menu, no icons, no tray, nothing at all....somehow, my hard drive was wiped clean. I lost everything. All of my personal files and the files of other users just gone, and I'm genuinely upset about that.
I've started the process of removing all Symantec products from my business computers (62 desktops) and will suggest that my other associates in other businesses do the same. I will post a negative comment about Symantec every time I have the chance in every appropriate blog and in general, will do everything legal that I can do to negatively affect Symantec and Norton Internet Security products. I wish there was more I could do
